Whitaker, a transfer from Central Methodist College, placed first in the USA Track Open Feb. 15-16, clearing 6-10.25. Last season, Whitaker was runner-up at one meet and finished third in the high jump at three meets. He also gained all-MVC honors by clearing 6-8 at the indoor conference meet.

Central Methodist: Whitaker was an all-conference pick and qualified for nationals.
