Worth Noting
Team captain...will vye for playing time in left field...worked diligently on the offensive end and could be a valuable right-handed hitter for the Salukis this season...one of the most respected players on the team because of his work ethic both on the field and in the classroom.
2003
Voted a team captain by his teammates...named second-team all-MVC Scholar-Athlete...majors in elementary education and carries a second-best 3.77 cumulative grade point average...although not completely healthy, he posted 11 hits, one double a home run and nine RBI in 16 starts...strung together a six-game hitting streak from Mar. 15-28...hit .364 with a double, two runs, his first career home run and seven RBI in Northern Iowa series (3/21-23), SIU's only four-game sweep of a league opponent...also in that series, he drove in a go-ahead run in game two, scored a winning run in game three and delivered what turned out to be a game-winning double in game four...all but one of his runs batted in came against league opponents.
2002
Was selected to represent SIU at the NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference at Disney's Wide World of Sports and Coronado Springs Resort...saw limited action playing in just 15 games, while starting three...in 20 plate appearances, registered four hits for a .200 average...also collected one double and five total bases...hit .333 at both the one and two spots in the lineup.
2001
Suffered a hand injury which limited him to 25 games, including nine starts...hit .250 with a double, a triple and one RBI...made 16 appearances off the bench as one of SIU's top subs...put together a four-game hitting streak.

Attended Normal Community High School, where he played under coach Dave Baeten...lettered all four years and was team-captain as a junior and senior...three-time Big 12 all-conference selection...garnered MVP honors...earned all-city and all-district laurels...a member of the National Honor Society who won Big 12 and Illinois Scholarship awards three of his four prep years.
